Ben Lewis has built his reputation on creating designer interiors for over 20 years and his signature retail brand Trenzseater showcases luxury New Zealand and European furnishings across the country.

“The art of living well is surrounding yourself with beautiful things to make a home a sanctuary to relax, unwind and enjoy at the end of long day,” says Ben. “Having furnishings  you love, pieces to treasure and items that tell a story is the key.”

With Trenzseater stores already established in Auckland and Christchurch Ben and his team opened the Queenstown branch in 2018.

“ I always wanted to have interior design stores where clients experience the best in a space that is intentionally displayed and feels like a home. We manufacture quality products with a distinctive, classic style featuring natural materials, solid oak timbers, beautiful soft Belgium linens and glove soft leather all of which suit Queenstown, Wanaka and Central Otago.”

Ben is an advocate of Ralph Lauren’s classic, timeless style and Trenzseater represents the international brand in New Zealand.

“Ralph Lauren gets the most attention for its diverse, vast product offering of homewares, lighting and furniture that always makes a statement. There is a fantastic display in the Queenstown store including crystal decanters and large scale furniture pieces. Our customers can relate to this easy living style.”

International industry recognition for both Trenzseater and Ben as a contemporary designer has been a highlight.

“I have always had an infectious passion for design and love layering  pieces to create beautiful spaces for people – it’s a dream,” says Ben. “A real highlight for me was winning the interior design award in London a few years ago. It was such a big accomplishment on a global scale and to be recognised on the world stage was fantastic.”
