Maggie Marilyn’s first Wānaka ‘Home Away From Home’

For two weeks only, New Zealand fashion designer Maggie Marilyn is inviting South Island locals and visitors alike to spend time in her first Home Away From Home experience tucked away in the snow-capped mountains of Wānaka.

From 30th June to the 13th of July, visitors are invited to experience a thoughtful curation of the MM Forever collection, with the opportunity to shop the latest capsule before anyone else.

The brand’s first winter pop up space is housed in a spectacular private Wānaka residence and thoughtfully designed by frequent MM collaborator and interior designer Katie Lockhart.

Maggie says customers will step through the residential doors of the Wānaka home and immediately be enveloped by the familiar warmth of a nearby fireplace.

“They’ll discover a cosy living room, fitted out with bespoke shelves and railings filled with a thoughtful curation of Forever – including the latest capsule which will be available first to our South Island customers – alongside winter essentials like our merino knitwear, tracksuits and Beyond Puffer ™ styles that Somewhere has become synonymous with.”

“This experience is the ultimate respite from the winter elements; an inviting space to try on clothes, sip hot coffee or mulled wine, and rest your legs after a long day of exploring the things that make the South Island one of the most beautiful destinations on earth.”

The bricks-and-mortar Homes have always been an important part of Maggie Marilyn’s DNA.

“In an increasingly online world, it is the offline experiences with customers that we cherish most, and over the past two years our Homes have allowed us to further strengthen these relationships in-person,” says Maggie. “Our Newmarket Home is an extension of the Maggie Marilyn workroom; where customers can see our makers in action and connect with the craft and care that goes into each garment. Our Britomart Home was designed to serve as a sanctuary in the city; an escape from the noise and an opportunity to shop without urgency or distraction.”
