Focus on Five Mile

Five Mile’s leasing programme has been so successful there are only two spaces left to lease in the entire precinct.

Leasing manager James Kermode says the centre’s food and beverage sector was launched with the opening of local brands Joes Garage and The Crown pub.

Stage Two is now underway with two available food and beverage spaces facing Five Mile Place.

“It’s all about adding depth to the menu offering for our customers,” says James. “We’re looking for operators in the fast, casual and licensed category who can add lunch and dinner options for those working at the centre as well as for locals or alternatively cater for the evening tourist trade.”

Spotlight on Alta

With summer’s arrival Queenstown’s world-class biking and hiking trails are in demand. Five Mile’s Alta store is “all about the bike” offering top international brands, rider equipment, clothing, parts and a fully equipped bike workshop.

Co-owners Aaron Fernandez and Duane Courtney opened the store just over a year ago bringing 12 years of experience gained at their central Queenstown outlet.

“We all ride, that’s our passion, so we know what people need and want,” says Aaron.

Alta stocks Poland’s NS Bikes and American brand Kona exclusively in Queenstown. The Kona range includes gravel bikes, hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes. Other high-profile brands instore are Cube Bikes, Mondraker and Orbea along with Shimano and Sram parts, tyres and an excellent range of e-bikes and full-suspension models for kids.

“Increasingly hotel guests are coming to us to hire bike gear and locals are loving how easy it is to drop their bikes off for a service or repairs with free parking right outside the door,” says Aaron.
