Euro style Bar FINO Launches

Standout new hospitality venue Fino Wine Bar in Frankton’s Queenstown Marina has a charming and sophisticated European influence. The wine bar is a collaboration between business partners Eugene Kliushneu and Richard Meads and Central Otago wine label Quartz Reef.

“Eugene and Richard are passionate Quartz Reef aficionados and when they approached us it was a wonderful opportunity to create a dedicated Queenstown based tasting room as an extension of our Cromwell cellar door,” says Quartz Reef sales manager Lianne Collins.

“Housed in Sheds 8 & 9 Fino Wine Bar with its sunny outlook over Lake Wakatipu to The Remarkables mountain range is in a delightful all-day location with a beautifully presented bar menu complementing the wine list featuring Quartz Reef alongside a range of fine Central Otago and New Zealand wines,” she says.

“We share amazing synergy with the Fino team delivering a tailored Quartz Reef tasting experience so guests can truly discover our wines and also purchase bottles to take with them.”

Queenstown Lakeside Setting

Fino Wine Bar owner Eugene Kliushneu loves the location of the new bar which is designed by interior designer Jo Goddard. Neighbours include The Boatshed, Altitude Brewing, Wet Jacket Wines and Norka’s Kai Café which he says all add to the buzz.

“It is European in style and named after Portofino in Italy. This hospitality precinct is a bit of a discovery for locals and visitors who come to experience our hidden food and wine gem at Queenstown Marina.”

“We designed Fino Wine Bar to feel like someone’s home to sit down, relax or perch at the bar or outside with heaters and blankets and drink in the stunning views while feasting on our cuisine and wines.”

The small sharing plates and family style menu rotates every two weeks, the wine list is by the glass and coffee and breakfast is served from 8.00am.

“We offer approachable, personalised service, like to know your name and preferences and locals can bring their dogs to sit outside for coffee or indulge with a glass of wine and a couple of plates,” says Eugene.

“All our guests receive complimentary parking outside with the option of catching a water taxi back to town or leaving their cars overnight if required.”
