Celebrating Margo’s

After four years of delivering wow moments to diners from all around the world as well as locals Margo’s is fun, vibrant, definitely lively and a little bit cheeky. But above all the flavour packed Mexican-inspired food is exceptional. It’s unapologetically not a traditional Mexican but explores new tastes, textures and flavour combinations. Executive chef Matt Tobin loves to surprise and delight with dishes like a Mayan Spiced Goat Quesabirria, Hippie Nachos or Octopus A La Plancha Fajitas. Staff are delightful, outgoing and highly knowledgeable. In those four years Margo’s has served up over 42,000 tacos, shaken more than 110,000 margaritas and delighted customers with 1750 birthday tequila songs.

The restaurant is a leader in sustainable systems, sending hundreds of kilograms of food waste for composting rather than to the landfill through the Waste to Wilderness initiative. It also keeps a lid on glass waste in partnership with Eco Spirits. Raise your salt-rimmed glasses to margaritas and exceptional food delivered with love and style at this rockstar restaurant.

Underground Cocktail Bar

Nestled beneath Margo’s, descend the neon-lit stairway to discover Queenstown’s undisputed underground tequila playground. It celebrates everything tequila and its smoky cousin mezcal in a cosy cocktail bar that’s well worth the find. Whether you’re up for a pre or post-dinner drink with friends or getting the weekend fiesta started you’ll love this exceptional line-up of premium agave spirits, margaritas, classic cocktails and innovative twists.

The shelves are laden with over 130 varieties so sit back, ask for the Bartender’s Choice and let the knowledgeable bartenders craft a personalised cocktail with a complex mix of flavours and aromas to set tastebuds alight. If agave isn’t your thing there’s a full classic cocktail list and beers and wines too. There’s always something fun to check out – don’t miss Tacos & Tequila specials in collaboration with Margo’s on the first Thursday of every month and a Mud & Margo’s pottery class in October making clay copitas – drinking cups for mezcal, tequila and other agave spirits. Happy hour daily from 5.00-7.00pm.
