Glamping expert Safari Tents NZ has launched a separate sauna company to provide the product with its own dedicated space and attention.

Safari Tents NZ marketing manger Tommy Lamb says The Tuki Sauna Co promotes their existing product under its new name and focuses exclusively on delivering outstanding indoor and outdoor sauna experiences with a genuinely personal approach to service.

Collaborating with leading Canadian manufacturers each sauna is handcrafted in Ontario from sustainably sourced red and white cedar. The construction uses single, solid staves of cedar with the natural oils providing robust resistance to decay and insects.

“Our new range of saunas are distinguished by timeless design and uncompromising craftsmanship,” says Tommy. “They seamlessly blend traditional Finnish sauna principles with modern design elements, resulting in a thoughtfully curated collection that performs reliably throughout New Zealand’s diverse climate. The cedar’s ability to withstand temperature and moisture fluctuations makes it an ideal material for New Zealand conditions.  The saunas are carefully crafted to sit naturally in any outdoor environment and the distinctive aroma of cedar adds to the overall sauna experience.”

Tommy says their product range is configurable to suit various settings—from compact urban gardens to expansive rural and lakeside locations. Options include cedar finish (knotty or clear), bench seating layouts, external porches, changing rooms and showers. 

“Kit-set designs offer flexibility with prices ranging from $16,000 to upwards of $40,000 ensuring there is a model suitable for any space. Large bronze-tinted tempered glass panels are incorporated into the designs opening up the sauna space to the location’s surrounding landscape and maximising views.”
